Dr. Ryan Powell
Dr. Ryan Powell, O.D. is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia. He received his doctorate of optometry with cum laude honors from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Dr. Powell trained at Children’s Mercy Hospital and is the owner of eight Vision Source practices in the Kansas City area.
Dr. Powell is member of the Gold Key Optometric Honor Society and the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. He was the 2010 President of the Missouri Optometric Association and he was recognized as the Missouri Young Optometrist of the Year in 2008. Dr. Powell has served in many leadership positions in Optometry, including service on the Southern College of Optometry Board of Trustees, American Optometric Association Committees, Transitions ProForum, and as Past President of the North Central States Optometric Association.
Ryan and his wife, Amy, have three children, Andie, Landyn, and Jake. They are a very active sports family and enjoy Missouri Tigers Football! They live in Kansas City North and are active supporters of Ians Rainbow Flu Foundation, Synergy Services, and St Therese Body, Mind, Spirit.
Dr. Lee Anne Whitworth
Lee Anne Whitworth, O.D. practices full-scope optometry including primary eye care of all ages, diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, contact lenses, and co-management of refractive and cataract surgery.
Dr. Lee Anne earned her doctor of optometry degree in 1997 from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. She completed her internship at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, D.C. Current affiliations include the American Optometric Association, Missouri Optometric Association, and the Greater Kansas City Optometric Society where she also served as past president.
Lee Anne grew up mainly in the southeast and graduated from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. She and Patrick were classmates in optometry school when they married and later moved back to the Kansas City area to practice optometry with Patrick’s father. She enjoys skiing, biking, and going on mission trips. She is a member of Gateway Church of Blue Springs, MO.
Dr. Patrick Whitworth
Patrick Whitworth, O.D. specializes in comprehensive eye care including cataract and lasik surgery co-management, contact lenses, diagnosis and treatment of eye disease, pediatric care, low vision, and sports vision.
Prior to optometry school, Dr. Pat earned a B.A. degree from the University of Missouri. He then earned his optometry and B.S. degrees from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 1997. His medical internship was completed at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, Missouri Optometric Association, and the Optometric Society of Greater Kansas City.
Dr. Pat was born in Independence and graduated from Blue Springs High School. In his free time he enjoys traveling with his wife Lee Anne, golf, riding his bike and motorcycle, skiing, and going on eye mission trips. He and Lee Anne are active members at Gateway Church of Blue Springs.
Dr. Alan Wegener
Alan Wegener, O.D. earned his optometric education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2012. His training sites include the Kansas City VA Medical Center, OMNI Eye Center of Kansas City, and multiple clinics in the inner city of St. Louis. Alan practices full-scope optometry including primary eye care of all ages, diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, contact lenses, and co-management of refractive and cataract surgery.
Dr. Wegener is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa academic and Gold Key leadership optometric societies. He is also an active member of the American Optometric Association, Missouri Optometric Association, and Greater Kansas City Optometric Society.
Alan was raised in Raytown, MO, where he graduated from Raytown High School, followed by his B.A. in Chemistry from William Jewell College in Liberty, MO. Alan and his wife, Emily, currently reside in Kansas City North. Their hobbies have included traveling, performing as members of the Kansas City Symphony Chorus, and raising their two sons.
Dr. Larry Snider
After graduating from Southern College of Optometry, Memphis, Tennessee in 1976, Dr. Snider established his practice in Harrisonville, Mo. The Pleasant Hill office was opened in 2006. He is a past president of the Missouri Optometric Association, the Missouri State Board of Optometry, and past board member of the Heart of America Contact Lens Congress. In 1993 he was named Optometrist of the Year by the M.O.A.
Community service has included president of the Harrisonville Chamber of Commerce, Harrisonville City Alderman, three- time Lions Club President, and numerous positions in the Harrisonville United Methodist Church.
A pretty good golfer and mediocre fisherman, Dr. Snider, his wife Jeanie, and dog Watson, enjoy traveling and spending time at Lake of the Ozarks. He and Jeanie have two grown daughters, Kate and Ann.
Joining Vision Source Eyecare in 2013, Dr. Snider continues to see patients four days a week in the Harrisonville office.
Dr. Brandon Lorenz
Brandon Lorenz, O.D. received his doctorate of optometry from Southern College of Optometry in 2012. He provides full scope optometry including pediatric care, contact lens fittings, and disease management. While attending Southern College of Optometry, Brandon completed externships at Children’s Mercy Hospital and Vision Source Eyecare. As a student, he was the Vice President of the Missouri State Club, and represented Southern on the Missouri Optometric Association Board of Optometrists in 2011.
Brandon is a Captain in the Missouri Air National Guard 139th Airlift Wing Medical Group. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association and the Missouri Optometric Association.
Brandon was born and raised in Saint Joseph, and graduated from Bishop LeBlond High School in 2004. After high school, he received a psychology degree from the University of Missouri. Brandon currently resides in Saint Joseph with his wife Katie. He enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, playing golf, and attending Mizzou games.
Dr. Jason Harper
Jason Harper, O.D. completed his doctorate of optometry at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. His externship training included a disease focused rotation at The Church Health Center in Memphis and a contact lens and primary care rotation at a private practice in Southaven, MS. Dr. Harper practices full scope optometry including pediatrics, contact lens fitting, ocular disease and co management of cataract and refractive surgery. Special areas of interest include treatment and management of glaucoma and dry eye disease.
Dr. Harper is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society, received the Mauldin Family Scholarship for academic and clinical excellence and was selected into the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges while studying at Southern College of Optometry. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association and the Missouri Optometric Association.
Jason grew up in Raymore, MO and moved to New York City after receiving his undergraduate degree from Missouri State University in musical theatre performance. He is very excited to be back in the Kansas City area where he now lives with his wife, Cortney and their two children. He enjoys playing basketball and tennis and spending as much time as he can with his wife and kids.
Dr. Erin Bales
Erin Bales, OD, provides primary eye care for all age groups at both the Crossroads District and Kansas City North locations including diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, fitting of contact lenses, and co-management of refractive and cataract surgery.
Dr. Bales earned her Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. She completed her training at The Eye Center and multiple inner-city community health clinics in Memphis, TN, along with Moyes Eye Center and Insight Eyecare Specialties in Kansas City. Current affiliations include the American Optometric Association and Missouri Optometric Association.
Erin grew up in the Kansas City area. She received a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Rockhurst University where she also played collegiate tennis. She enjoys traveling, the outdoors, trying new restaurants and going on mission trips. Erin also attends and is involved with Redeemer Fellowship Church in Midtown.
Dr. Lauren Seutter
Dr. Lauren Seutter, O.D. was born and raised in the Northland, and is a graduate of Park Hill High School. She earned her bachelors of Health Sciences at the University of Missouri, and received her doctorate with cum laude honors from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Dr. Seutter trained at Children’s Mercy Hospital, The Eye Center in Memphis, and Vision Source Eyecare. During her schooling she became skilled in the treatment and management of ocular diseases, contact lens fitting, co-management of cataract and refractive surgery, and dry eye disease. Skilled in the area of pediatrics, Dr. Seutter, loves working with children to treat strabismus (eye turn), amblyopia, and other accommodative conditions.
Dr. Seutter is a member of the Gold Key Optometric Honor Society, Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, and Missouri Optometric Association.
Lauren looks forward to serving the community by connecting with local schools and societies to provide premium eye care. Lauren and her husband, Blake, live in Kansas City North and enjoy attending Restore Community Church.
During her free time Lauren enjoys mission trips, crafting, being in the sun, and cheering on the Chiefs or Royals!
